About the Event / Speaker(s)

  • Ms. Tan Sze Won

Sze Won has joined KPMG as Senior Manager in Actuarial Services for 2 years. Prior to that, she had 10 years of experience in Malaysia and Taiwan insurance companies which focused on life insurance valuation and reporting. Apart from traditional actuarial reporting, she took initiatives exploring how actuaries can contribute to climate change solutions, such as climate-related financial disclosure and climate insurance, etc.

Sze Won is experienced in various actuarial valuation and financial reporting, including Embedded Value (EV) and IFRS 4 (US GAAP) reporting as well as Prophet management. She has been involved in independent review on actuarial valuation, ICAAP and Management of Par Business  (MPB), IFRS 17 implementation projects and Actuarial Due Diligence projects. She graduated from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman with BSc Hons in Actuarial Science and qualified as Associate of Society of Actuaries (SOA).

  • Mr. Mohammad Uqail Esa

Uqail joined KPMG Malaysia’s Talent Management & Culture (TMC) Team in 2021 as a Consultant in Talent Engagement. As part of his role, Uqail conducts training and sharing sessions with universities and student bodies across Malaysia. While managing the Summer Internship Program  (SIP) at the firm, he is also acting as a mentor for the KPMG  Ambassadorship Program. Uqail was a recipient of the KPMG ASEAN Scholarship in 2019, and was a KPMG Student Ambassador himself in 2020.

His interests include not only Accounting, Finance, and Economics, but also recruitment, branding and talent management. All in all, he is an individual seasoned with many years of experience in leadership and volunteer roles with the zeal to explore, lead and commit. Before getting into the industry, he graduated from University of Nottingham Malaysia with BSc Hons in Finance, Accounting and Management with First Class Honours.
